Bachelor of Science (B.Sc)

Session: 2026 - 2029
Typical Program Structure
Botany

Botany introduces students to plant diversity, morphology, anatomy, taxonomy, physiology, genetics, ecology, microbiology, plant pathology, economic botany and biotechnology. It enables students to understand the structure, development, classification and ecological importance of plants.

Chemistry

Chemistry provides a strong foundation in inorganic, organic, physical and analytical chemistry. Students study chemical bonding, periodic properties, thermodynamics, solutions, chemical kinetics, hydrocarbons, functional groups, coordination compounds and laboratory-based chemical analysis.

Environmental Science

Environmental Science focuses on ecosystems, biodiversity, natural resources, pollution, climate change, environmental laws, waste management, sustainable development, disaster management, environmental impact assessment, remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems.

Spread across six semesters, the programme includes core science subjects, practical laboratory courses, languages, skill-enhancement courses, constitutional values, computer applications, communication skills, field studies, internship-based learning and research-oriented activities.

Through laboratory experiments, ecological surveys, field visits, specimen studies, chemical analysis, environmental monitoring, seminars and project work, students develop scientific thinking, observation skills, research aptitude, problem-solving ability and environmental responsibility.

The programme provides a strong foundation for higher studies and competitive examinations such as M.Sc programmes, UPSC, KPSC, Indian Forest Service, environmental and scientific recruitment examinations, and other government-sector opportunities.

Graduates can pursue careers in environmental consultancy, laboratories, biotechnology, agriculture, forestry, conservation, pollution-control agencies, pharmaceutical industries, research institutions, education, sustainability management, environmental monitoring and public administration.
